The HISTORIC DISTRICT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION is the organization comprised of the various businesses in the heart of downtown Natchitoches. These shops, restaurants, and historic homes lie within a 33-block area that is one of only two National Historic Landmark Districts in Louisiana (the other be

In addition to relaxing strolls while shopping or dining in the Historic District a time-out can be taken for a scenic carriage or guided walking tour or the French outpost of Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historical Site. Free walking tour maps are available at the Natchitoches Information Center located at 781 Front Street in the downtown historic district.

Natchitoches plans for 45 Nights of Christmas Lights
Lights to premiere Saturday November 20
It will be snowing in Natchitoches beginning Saturday November 20 through December 18, snow and carolers will be on Front Street every Friday and Saturday night celebrating our 45 nights of Christmas lights. Both of these added events are being sponsored by the Historic District Business Association.

PLANS UNDERWAY FOR SNOW FEST 2010

The Natchitoches Historic District Business Association has added Snow Fest to the lineup of events planned for the 84th annual Festival of Lights.
The highlight of Snow Fest will be the premiere of a snow hill for the first time in a city in Louisiana. The snow hill is tubing down 110′ feet of totally awesome winter fun and will be located on the downtown riverbank below Front Street. Forty thousand pounds (40,000#) of ice will be used. There is a height restriction of 42″. Admission will be charged.
Visitors on this weekend will also have the opportunity to purchase a souvenir photo of their visit. Tickets for both activities will be available on the downtown riverbank.
